1. About these terms

These Terms of Service govern your use of SquadPulse, an independently operated UK-based Discord bot and web service for gaming communities.

SquadPulse is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Discord.

By installing SquadPulse, using its Discord commands or interactions, participating in features operated through SquadPulse, or using the SquadPulse web dashboard, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What SquadPulse provides

SquadPulse provides tools for Discord gaming communities. Features may include gaming events and signups, squads and teams, temporary Discord rooms, player statistics and leaderboards, seasons, tournaments, announcements, server customisation, event presets and administrative dashboard tools.

Features may be added, changed, replaced or removed as SquadPulse develops.

3. Free service and optional support

SquadPulse's current public bot and dashboard features are provided free of charge. There are currently no paid feature tiers or locked Pro features.

Optional donations may be accepted through third-party services such as Ko-fi to help support hosting and development. A donation does not purchase ownership, guaranteed uptime, priority support, additional functionality or any particular future development unless explicitly stated otherwise at the time.

4. Discord accounts and server authority

You must comply with Discord's applicable terms, policies and rules when using SquadPulse.

You must have appropriate authority before installing or configuring SquadPulse in a Discord server. Server owners and administrators are responsible for the permissions they grant to SquadPulse, their server configuration and their use of administrative features.

You should not grant SquadPulse permissions beyond those reasonably required for the features you choose to use.

5. User and administrator responsibility

You are responsible for information, settings and actions you submit through SquadPulse and for ensuring that your use of the service is lawful and appropriate for your Discord community.

Server administrators are responsible for decisions they make using SquadPulse, including event configuration, team assignments, tournament invitations, announcements, server settings and access given to other administrators.

6. Acceptable use

You must not use SquadPulse to:

• break applicable law or Discord's rules;
• infringe the rights of another person;
• harass, threaten, defraud or impersonate others;
• distribute malicious, fraudulent or unlawful material;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to SquadPulse, its infrastructure or another user's information;
• probe, exploit or deliberately misuse security vulnerabilities;
• deliberately overload, disrupt or interfere with the service;
• automate abusive or excessive requests;
• circumvent access controls or restrictions; or
• misrepresent yourself as SquadPulse staff or falsely claim an official relationship with SquadPulse.

7. Private tournaments and invitations

Private tournament access is invite-only. Invitations are associated with authorised Discord accounts. Users must not attempt to bypass an invitation requirement, use another person's account or otherwise obtain access to a private tournament without authorisation.

8. Availability, maintenance and changes

SquadPulse is provided on an as available basis. We aim to operate a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that every feature will always be free from errors.

We may update, limit, suspend or discontinue features where reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, abuse prevention, technical changes, legal requirements or operation of the service.

9. Suspension and termination

We may restrict or remove access to SquadPulse where reasonably necessary to protect the service, users or Discord communities; investigate abuse or security incidents; comply with legal obligations; or respond to serious or repeated violations of these terms.

A Discord server administrator may stop using SquadPulse by removing the bot from the server. Individual users may stop interacting with SquadPulse at any time.

10. Data after removing the bot

Removing SquadPulse from a Discord server does not necessarily cause all associated information to disappear immediately. Removed-server data is handled according to the retention and deletion process described in the SquadPulse Privacy Policy.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information SquadPulse processes, why it is processed, retention periods, data-protection rights and how to make a privacy request.

12. Third-party services

SquadPulse depends on third-party services, particularly Discord, and may use or link to other providers such as hosting, email and donation services.

Those third parties operate under their own terms, privacy policies and availability arrangements. SquadPulse does not control third-party platforms and cannot guarantee that they will remain available or unchanged.

13. Your content and Discord community information

You retain responsibility for content and information you submit through SquadPulse. You give SquadPulse permission to process that information only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure and operate the service and the features you request.

You must not knowingly submit content through SquadPulse that you do not have the right to use or that would make its processing unlawful.

14. SquadPulse intellectual property

SquadPulse branding, original website materials, original bot materials and other original service content remain the property of their respective owner unless stated otherwise. These terms do not transfer ownership of SquadPulse or its branding to users.

Third-party names, trademarks and materials remain the property of their respective owners.

15. Disclaimer and liability

SquadPulse is intended as a community-management tool. You remain responsible for your Discord server, permissions, community decisions and any important records or backups you require.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, SquadPulse does not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every possible threat, or suitable for every particular purpose.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable UK law. Nothing in these terms removes mandatory rights you may have under applicable law.

16. Security and reporting problems

You must not deliberately exploit a suspected SquadPulse security issue. If you discover a security or privacy problem, please report it responsibly so it can be investigated.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as SquadPulse develops or where operational, security or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when revised terms are published.

Your continued use of SquadPulse after revised terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except where applicable law gives you mandatory rights to bring proceedings elsewhere or provides rights that cannot be limited by these terms.
